Malaysia Instructor Band (MIB) was formed in Feb 2003 by some of the local
Band Instructors. We have our ever first concert on 12 April 2003 which held in PWTC. We invited a special
guest, Mr Nornami from Japan to lead us for better performance.
MIB is a wind band for musicians. Credited to local conductors' efforts, the wind band aims to
shelter musicians who see pastime, merit and satisfaction in playing band music. The four primary objectives of the band are:
- To foster the understanding and appreciation of wind band music.
- To develop the skill and confidence needed in the techniques of wind band playing.
- To provide the opportunity for musicians to perform in a wind band.
- To built up the esteem of musicians who seek to play more music.
Members of the wind band include virtually any musicians who have undergone musical training or
those who possess high school band experience.
MIB members regularly meet for practices and there would be concert performance events all through
the year, commencing in May each year. Members are encouraged to renew their registration each year to safeguard their participation
in the events.
